Installing Love!

This was sent to me by a friend, and thought how perfect this would be for our site.  It truly is the root of all greatness and success!  If you know who the original author is, please post a comment so I may give appropriate credit to them.  Please share this with everyone you feel could use a little Love Program. Thank you!

Tech Support:  Yes, … how can I help you?

Customer:  Well, after much consideration, I’ve decided to install Love.  Can you guide me through the process?

Tech Support:  Yes. I can help you.  Are you ready to proceed?

Customer:  Well, I’m not very technical, but I think I’m ready.  What do I do first?

Tech Support:  The first step is to open your Heart.  Have you located your Heart?

Customer:  Yes, but there are several other programs running now.  Is it okay to install Love while they are running?

Tech Support:  What programs are running?

Customer:  Let’s see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge and Resentment running right now.

Tech Support:  No problem, Love will gradually erase Past Hurt from your current operating system.
It may remain in your permanent memory but it will no longer disrupt other programs.  Love will
eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High Self-Esteem.  However, you
have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment.  Those programs prevent Love from being properly
installed.  Can you turn those off?

Customer:  I don’t know how to turn them off.  Can you tell me how?

Tech Support:  With pleasure.  Go to your start menu and invoke Forgiveness.  Do this as many times as
necessary until Grudge and Resentment have been completely erased.

Customer:  Okay, done! Love has started installing itself.  Is that normal?

Tech Support:  Yes, but remember that you have only the base program.  You need to begin connecting to
other Hearts in order to get the ugrades.

Customer:  Oops! I have an error message already.  It says, ”Error - Program does not run on external
components.” What should I do?

Tech Support:  Don’t worry.  It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but
has not yet been run on your Heart.  In non-technical terms, it simply means you have to Love yourself
before you can Love others.

Customer: So, what should I do?

Tech Support:  Pull down Self-Acceptance; then click on the following files: Forgive-Self, Realize Your
Worth; and Acknowledge your limitations.

Customer:  Okay, done.

Tech Support: Now, copy them to the ”My Heart” directory.  The system will overwrite any conflicting
files and begin patching faulty programming.  Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all
directories and empty your Recyle Bin to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.

Customer: Got it. Hey! My Heart is filling up with new files.  Smile is playing on my monitor and
Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over My Heart.  Is this normal?

Tech Support:  Sometimes.  For others it takes awhile, but eventually everything gets it at the proper
time.  So Love is installed and running.  One more thing before we hang up.  Love is Freeware.
Be sure to give it and its various modules to everyone you meet.  They will in turn share it with others
and return some cool modules back to you.

Customer:   Thank you, God!

The Journey!

Welcome to the Daily Life Skills Blog!  It is my intention that anyone who explores here will find themselves on a new journey in life.  I have heard it said that ”life is not a race it is a marathon”.  There are days when we wake up and wonder what this life is all about, why we are here, and what our purpose is.   Keep waking up wondering, because that is the beauty of this mystery called life.  If we had all the answers, what would be the point of waking up?

Life is a journey one that is to be experience and enjoyed.  And with any wisdom, we will have learned something.  I know you will find things in here that will inspire you, or empower you.  If not, then you are truly a blessed individual, and would ask that you share with us your experiences.

I don’t claim to have all the answers, but my personal experiences and relationships with others have blessed me with knowledge and wisdom to share in hopes that others will not have to learn the hard way.  Even though for some, the hard way is the only way to learn, but for those who wish for a simpler approach, this resource is for you.

Be blessed in all that you do, and may your life be filled with joy, happiness, and success!  God Bless this beautiful country and all the caring people that continue to make it a free nation!

Sincerely - GS

Negative Chatter - is it real, is it in the mind, or is it just another expression placed on us?  I suppose the answer to each part of that question would be yes, yes, and yes.  For some of us, negative chatter is very real.  So real, in fact, that it is the essence of who we are.  Yes, it is in the mind, thoughts, and words spoken every day.  And, it is a label given to describe what we can’t understand.

What is negative chatter though?  Well in some sense it is a disease.  It festers, it grows, and it destroys.  It destroys our confidence, it destroys our relationships (work, personal, interpersonal), and it destroys our ability to grow towards an excellent life.  When we say things like; “I can’t do this or that”, “I am not good enough for this or that”, “I’m not good looking enough for him/her”, “I’m not funny, charming, loving, or smart enough”, BLAH BLAH BLAH!  These are words/thoughts that are in our subconscious mind.  Though we may not say these things out loud, we are shouting them in our heads.  This chatter of course is the festering of insecurity, lack of confidence, inability to grow, and the foundation to a life of emptiness.

How do we change it?  CUT IT OUT of your mind!  Erase the negative chatter and allow yourself to be great, and to have an excellent life.  This isn’t rocket science, and one does not need a Doctorate’s or a Master’s degree in psychology to make a difference, only personal experience, changing your own negative chatter and helping others erase theirs.  Remember you can’t read this once and hope it works - you need to make these changes, through, consistent change of habit.

Here are the steps to eliminate negative chatter:

Step 1:  Recognize negative chatter.

How:  Record conversations, ask trusted family or friends to be honest and point out the negative chatter (non-empowering words), keep a journal of what was said through-out the day.  This journal can be in any type of book, and in any format.  The point is to track the words being said out loud.

Step 2:  Make drastic changes.

How:  Have a close family member, trusted friend, or mentor point out every time a negative, non-empowering word is mentioned.  Ask them to interrupt on the dime, with a loud noise (like “AHHHT” for example), or some method to get the attention of the person, so they catch themselves saying the negative words.  Then make the correction with a replacement empowering word.  Examples:  “I hope to get that job.” replace with - ”I know I will get that job.” ”I think I look ok.” replace with - “I look fantastic”.  Keep doing this until the negative chatter is replaced with positive chatter.

Step 3:  Change your environment.

How:  Start by surrounding yourself with people who are conscious about their negative chatter, and have created a habit of positive chatter.

Have you heard the expression, “Misery loves company”?  I use to believe that was true, but now I believe negative people don’t love the company of misery, they simply don’t feel comfortable around positive talking/thinking people.  So, naturally they will surround themselves with those they feel comfortable with.  Not necessarily because they “want” to, but because they just aren’t comfortable around more postive people.  Initially they may not even understand why.

Start eliminating negative chatter today, and follow these steps so you too can start living a more enriched life.
